This is a new blog created solely focusing on retirement related matters. Anything relevant will be added here. Will focus on certain topics and general guidelines that I think is useful when planning and executing retirement under Singapore context. Articles would be focus on informational categories (less than 5 min reads) such as @Lifestyle (Different kind of simple living lifestyles) and @$Sense (Dollar or money sense) or Quotes (short but meaningful).

This blog is mainly for those who wanted to plan or retiring but has no idea what to expect and what to look for. Feeling useless and lost is common. However, there is no single retirement plan for everyone as everyone has different views of how their retirement is like so each individual needs to plan for a specific retirement package that they want.

Short profile of the author:

Hi, I am Dickson Idlier, the author of this blog. Retired at the age of 43 (In year 2018) and still retired in Singapore. I do write blogs but since not much hits so I stopped for a while. Then I got thinking that it might be a good idea to share my experience of planning and executing my retirement plans.

I started thinking about retirement at age 45 at a young age, around my twenties. I read up a lot of books on financial planning first since managing your money is the first step for retirement. If you don't have enough money, you cannot retire, right? Then the boring working hard for money and then I quit my last job in Aug 2017, I decided to take a year off and relax. Then I chanced upon freeganism, minimalism, and other lifestyles that I really re-evaluate my lifestyle and decided to make a change. After the changes, I noticed that humans don't need a lot to live so why waste so much time earning money? Thus, I officially retired in 2018 and never looked back.
